Application and use

  • BALCOT is a purified grade high viscosity Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), suitable as binder and rheological additive for glazes and engobes for the ceramic industry.
  • Dispersability and solubility of this CMC has been improved thanks to a peculiar industrial process.
  • By this way the addition directly into the glaze of CMC in powder form gives very good results in terms of reduction of clots formation, glaze homogeneity and sieving time.

Dosage for ceramic tiles

  • The addition is from 0.05 up to 0.4 % calculated on the dry weight of the raw materials.

Package

  • BALCOT is stable to prolonged storage under conditions where extreme moisture does not occur. The shelf life is at least twelve months if this condition is observed.

  • 25 KGs five-ply multiwall paper bag having two plies coated with polyethylene

Safety

  • BALCOT presents no hazard for handling and storage, and so no warnings or labels are required. Nevertheless it is necessary to remember that improper use of chemicals and the absence of basic practices of industrial hygiene can be harmful to health and environment.
